Will Chairman of IFSCA continue?

Tenure  of K. Rajaraman, a retired IAS officer of 1989 batch currently serving as Chairman of IFSCA  ends this month-end. His 3-year tenure is expiring on July, 2026.Will he get an extension beyond 31st July or a new dark horse from the bureaucracy will emerge for the position or whether Govt has already identified a person from open market outside bureaucracy? Only top bosses can answer, and let’s wait and watch.

International Financial Services Centres Authority is a statutory body set up under IFSCA Act, 2019 by government of India to regulate financial services activities in IFSC in India. The International Financial Services Centre in GIFT city is the first such centre set up by Central government. Chairman of IFSCA is a secretary-level post and only retired officers have been appointed till date.
